Exchanging contracts on your new home is, for some, just the start of the stress. Chaotic scenes dominate, as your once peaceful home is suddenly plunged into a world of activity and movement.

Even once you're ensconced in your new home, the dream home can be more of a nightmare whilst you're still struggling to get everything unpacked.
Louise and Evan Gray, a young couple with two young children, recently decided to leave their Islington home in search of more space on the south coast.
"We couldn't wait. The house we'd bought was perfect, with a lovely garden for the kids to play in, but then we had to start thinking about the logistics of getting our children, our kids and all of our stuff down to Southampton," she said.
"For the move to Southampton car hire was essential," Evan continued.
"Having always lived relatively close to our offices we'd never really needed a car. I could cycle and Louise was close enough to walk."

"Not one breakage!" said Evan. "That lasted until the kids woke up anyway."
